As 2025 draws to a close, we’re reflecting on a year of renewal and evolution at Eyewear Youwear — our independent, luxury optometry boutique in Surry Hills. This year brought together everything we value: craftsmanship, advanced clinical care and the strong sense of community that defines our practice in Sydney.
One of our greatest joys was welcoming back Dianne, our principal optometrist, and Jasmine, our dispenser, from maternity leave. Their return brought warmth, expertise and familiarity back into the boutique — a reminder of how integral their presence is to the experience our patients enjoy.
This year also marked an important milestone as Darren and Simon returned to SILMO Paris — our first time attending the world’s leading eyewear fair since pre-COVID. Immersing themselves once again in global design and independent craftsmanship reignited our passion for thoughtful curation. They came back to Sydney inspired, energised and ready to bring new ideas and exceptional eyewear to our shelves.
That influence flowed into our expanding collections, with notable additions to our Akoni and Matsuda ranges. These luxury eyewear brands embody the architectural detail, Japanese precision and sculptural design language that resonate so strongly with our clients. Their arrival strengthened our boutique’s position as a destination for premium eyewear in Sydney — pieces chosen for their longevity, character and refined aesthetic.
2025 was also a defining year for our clinical offering. As a boutique optometrist committed to leading eye care, we invested in the Oculus Pentacam AXL Wave, one of the most advanced diagnostic instruments available. Its ability to map the cornea with extraordinary detail has elevated the accuracy of our eye examinations, ensuring every prescription is crafted with exceptional precision.
We also continued to offer the latest innovations in contact lenses, including J&J Acuvue Oasys 1-Day Max Multifocal daily disposables. These cutting-edge lenses have been transformative for patients seeking clarity, comfort and convenience in their daily visual routines.
Looking back, the strength of this year lies in the way each moment — each return, each new frame, each investment in technology — has quietly shaped the experience we provide. 2025 was a year of deepening what we stand for: thoughtful design, clinical excellence and personalised care delivered with warmth and intention.
